Summer Season—Wonder Wedneday

It's WONDER Wednesday!

This week’s WONDER is the summer season. For many of us, it’s the peak of the year in Northern Michigan. And it gets BUSY. We all feel the pull of outdoor markets, BBQs, water sports, gardening, concerts in the park and so much more. But slowing down in summer can yield a rich experience, too. Here are some of our favorite ways to embrace the season in a way that’s recharging and replenishing.

  • Start the day with a birdsong serenade. Migratory birds are in residence and add to the symphony.

  • Touch the water. Even if you have only a few minutes, dip your toes or trail a finger in our beautiful lakes.

  • Take 2. Opt for 2 wheels or 2 feet whenever possible. You’ll always experience more wonder this way.

  • Step into the woods. What sounds can you hear? What smells can you smell?

  • Get unplugged. Read a book on the porch or play a family game to while away these long summer nights
